Generation Iron Arnold Classic Asia 2016

Another Arnold Classic joins the roster of events.

Expansion. It’s the name of the game in any business endeavor. Growth is the key to having longevity and sustained success. For an athlete, expanding their repertoire is important to the longevity of their career as well as triumphing over the competition. Bodybuilding is no different. The sport itself is about constant improvement, about how you’re able to put on more and more muscle year in and year out in order to conquer your fellow competitors and prove you’re the best. It’s a tough task, one that entails a great deal of sacrifice and humility in order to succeed.

Speaking on the sport itself, in order to see continued growth in the industry that means expanding into new territories where new, fresh faces lie. Bodybuilding is a worldwide sport, one with many different competitors from a wide variety of ethnic backgrounds. It comes as no surprise then that the IFBB, the founders of the Arnold Classic to be specific, is trying to expand it’s reach to untapped markets.

After sporting events in both North and South America, Europe, and Australia, it seems like the Arnold Classic has found a new home. In August 2016 the first Arnold Classic Asia will debut in Hong Kong. Besides the fact that the pros will be bringing their best to the posing stage in Asia, it also gives an opportunity to local talent looking to gain some recognition for their own athletic gifts.

The expansion is sure to bring out some of Asia’s best and brightest as well as give bodybuilders a new market to break into. With the continued expansion of the Arnold Classic shows it seems that the event is slowly becoming one of the most popular of its kind. It’s second behind the Olympia, but you have to wonder if it will someday takeover as the number one bodybuilding competition in the world.
