Does Classic Physique belong in the bodybuilding industry?

It seems like everyone has an opinion these days. With the internet and social media as popular as it is, it’s only logical that more and more people are given a voice, a method in which to broadcast their thoughts and feelings. That’s pretty much what we do here on the website, express opinions, offer information and anything entertaining that a bodybuilding or fitness fan can appreciate. With the constant changes and shifts in the industry it’s easy to imagine that someone will have something to say.

The classic physique division is the newest addition to the IFBB, a class where athletes are expected to build bodies more reminiscent of the Golden Era of bodybuilding than the current landscape. So many people have been making their voices heard about their opinions on the current state of bodybuilding. Arnold Schwarzenegger may be the most high profile individual to vilify bodybuilding for it’s current state of rewarding open weight competitors for growing massive muscle while ignoring aesthetics as well as bringing inadequate posing to the stage.

Many people agreed with the man considered to be the greatest bodybuilder of all time, which is most likely what prompted the IFBB to create the classic physique division in the first place. The inclusion of the new division has garnered some different reactions from a number of fans and athletes alike. Those in support of the new development believe it’s been a long time coming and that with it’s inclusion that things will be going back to normal.

But there are also a great many individuals that are completely against this new class of bodybuilding. One such individual is an amateur bodybuilder Jeff Wright. He may not have as big a name as Arnold Schwarzenegger, but he does have his own opinions on the development of the classic physique division and why it should have no place within the sport.
