Bodybuilding Legends Debate Benefits and Dangers of Eating Multiple Meals

Kai Greene, Dorian Yates, and George Farah discuss eating and bodybuilding.

Kai Greene, Dorian Yates, and George Farah had a pretty interesting discussion revolving around eating and bodybuilding. The discussion was about the reality how eating multiple meals may be good for bodybuilding, but not so great for leading a healthy lifestyle.

In order to make some serious muscle gains, an individual needs to do a number of choice things. One must build a solid routine, developing a framework to go off of. Establishing a lifting program, one that can stimulate new muscle growth by stressing the body through resistance training. But perhaps the most important aspect of building quality muscle is having a proper diet and nutrition program in place.

In order for a bodybuilder to make some serious gains, the kind of muscle growth that can make you a top flight pro, is to eat a generous amount of calories. In truth it’s impossible to build the kind of physique like a top IFBB Pro without eating a tremendous amount of food. That means eating three or more meals in a day, all while doing some heavy lifting.

The notion of eating a tremendous amount of meals in a day has recently sparked an interesting conversation. How many meals is too many?

How Many Meals Is Too Much?

Studies are showing that eating just one meal a day can be incredible healthy and beneficial for the body. Intermittent fasting has been shown to reduce the risk of certain cancers and other diseases and illnesses. A recent video on Instagram has even sparked a conversation with some notable figures in the bodybuilding community, namely Kai Greene and Dorian Yates.

Wait….. what!!!!????

Dorian Yates Chimes In

While Kai Greene appeared skeptical of the information in the video, Dorian Yates chummed in on the conversation.

Dorian Yates comments

George Farah Throws His Hat Into The Ring

Even George Farah, long time friend and trainer of Kai Greene backed up Dorian Yates on this issue.

So while eating once or twice a day may be beneficial for health, it may not be the greatest thing for a top bodybuilder. Kai Greene is still active and therefore can’t afford to eat just once or twice a day. He needs to feed his muscles like George Farah said.

So what’s your opinion on eating fewer meals in a day versus eating for muscle growth?
