875 pounds.
Many athletes who are able to perform at a high level usually start their sporting endeavors at a relatively young age. If you plan on becoming a pro boxer then most times starting things earlier is often better. It takes a amount of discipline and drive to be able to compete at a high level at an early age, but it’s fundamental if a youth hopes to go pro in whatever sporting endeavor they choose.
For weight lifters there are a few avenues that can be taken if they intend on going pro. Bodybuilding seems to be what most athletes choose simply because it has to do with building a pleasing aesthetic rather than just being a means to an end. Strongman competitions also require competitors to heft a considerable amount of weight in order to prove their worth as one of the strongest beings on the planet.

.
Then there are powerlifters. These athletes are less focused on building aesthetic muscles and more focused on the ability to haul major weight in a number of different lifting categories. Of all the exercises involved in a powerlifting event most everyone is in agreement that the squat is one of the more difficult lifts to complete. The movement is considered to be the king of all exercises for a reason. Muscle building benefits aside, the squat requires to lifter utilize every bit of their body in order to put up a staggering amount of weight.
Like we mentioned before, if a person’s goal is to one day compete in professional competition, in this case powerlifting, then starting young is a good way to develop good strength and form. But despite that, no one truly expects a younger competitor to put up numbers the likes of pros. Who lived by that way of thinking is in for a shock as Joseph Pena demonstrates in the below video. At only 17 years of age, Pena was able to lift 875 lbs and make it look easy. Check it out.
