Brian Shaw Rips Through Massive 1091Lbs Deadlift During Intense Training

Brian Shaw pulls 1091lbs!

There’s no doubt about it, the deadlift is one of the most difficult lifts to perform. It takes a tremendous about of posterior chain strength to pull off a solid heavy lift. That means a ton of time and effort most be put into proper preparation. Without the right training you can forget about lifting massive weight in the deadlift.

For strongman Brian Shaw, performing a heavy deadlift is just another day in the office. After all, Shaw has put in a ton of training over the years to master the lift.

Winning four World’s Strongest Man titles, Brian Shaw is hoping to take home a fifth victory this year. According to Shaw, it appears that the deadlift could feature prominently in the finals of the WSM.

“We don’t know 100% but as of the time I’m filming this video I think that there’s enough of a rumor that has been going on long enough that in the finals of the World’s Strongest Man there will be an 18-inch deadlift,” said Shaw. “Now what bar it will be, I don’t know. What type of setup it will be exactly, I don’t know.

“I’ve done a lot of my training through the cycle with the power bar which is much, much stiffer.

“So today we’re going to go with the deadlift bar. I’m assuming, from a visual standpoint, if they can get a bar that’s flexible for an 18-inch deadlift, that’s going to look much better on tv.”

As the 2020 WSM approaches, Brian Shaw decided to pack on the weight as he lifts an astounding 1091lbs.
