Calum Von Moger is enjoying his return to training and has considered competing in 2025.

Calum Von Moger continues to discuss his journey back into bodybuilding. Could it eventually lead to a return to the stage as well? Recently, Von Moger joined the OG Podcast for an interview where he was able to discuss his goals of winning the Classic Physique Olympia title.

“That was going to be my goal. It was either bodybuilding or physique. That was like the two different things and then they came out with Classic and I was like this is perfect.”

The process for Von Moger has been long as he earned his Pro Card at the 2020 NPC Universe but has not competed in a show recently. He is a three-time Mr. Universe winner but has not stepped on stage as an IFBB Classic Physique competitor.

In May 2022, it was reported that Calum Von Moger jumped through a second story window while under the influence of methamphetamine. He received many injuries, including lacerations from the glass and spinal damage from the fall. He was hospitalized, received spinal surgery, and was in a coma for many days. Von Moger eventually attended rehab and got the help he felt he needed. Now, he continues to be an inspiration for others, sharing his personal journey.

The entire journey of his recovery and return to competitive bodybuilding was chronicled in the documentary feature film Calum Von Moger: Unbroken.

Calum Von Moger Talks Potential Comeback

Calum Von Moger began training again this year and has enjoyed every second of it. He explains how he went on testosterone following a trip to the doctors and it helped add incredible mass.

“It’s something I hadn’t done in probably two years. I went and checked them out and it was like 80. The doctor was like your testosterone is not coming back naturally and you can’t produce it.

I figured ‘hey, that’s probably going to contribute to my mental health and get me out of a bit of a hole.’ I started the TRT initially and within I think the first eight weeks, I just blew up.”

Von Moger is not looking to compete in 2024 but admits it is a possibility if he gets his physique back in shape for the stage.

“If I get enough confidence from my peers, maybe. This year, definitely, I’m just enjoying the gym and training and especially meeting and getting back into the social scene and I kind of stuck to myself a lot for the last couple of years.

Bodybuilding is a 24-hour thing. Every part of the day is to contribute to your physique, whether it be sleeping, eating, training, recovery, so there’s just so much that you can pack into your day just for bodybuilding.”

Von Moger, who was joined by Larry Wheels, said that he would do a Classic Physique show with Wheels because it would be fun to do it with a friend. Last week, Wheels announced that he would quit bodybuilding after “relapsing” on a full cycle of steroids.

Calum Von Moger continues to improve his physique in the gym and he believes this has helped mentally as well. The journey continues and come 2025, it could culminate with an appearance on stage.
