CAN SERGIO OLIVA JR LIVE UP TO HIS FATHER’S LEGACY?

Generation Iron Sergio Oliva Jr. Legacy

The second coming of The Myth?

There are some greats that come along once in a generation. An individual that defines an era. In athletics you’d be surprised how rare it is to dominate the landscape. Sure, people remember the Michael Jordans, the Ronnie Colemans, the Roger Federers, and the Arnold Schwarzeneggers of the world, but they fail to remember some of the other greats that either challenged or dominated the scene around that same period of time.

Right at the beginning of what was known as the Golden Age of bodybuilding, a Cuban national by the name of Sergio Oliva was renowned as the greatest bodybuilder of all time. He was massive and defined. He had the rare combination of a slim and tapered waist with huge arms and broad shoulders. Even his legs were rather large for a time period where the upper body got a lot more of the attention in competitions. Oliva even defeated Arnold who would go on to be known as the greatest if all time. Sergio Oliva was truly an impressive man who comes along once in a life time. Or least that was what everyone thought. But it appears that another man with the same name no less is showing the same kind of potential.

Now Oliva Jr. has finally gotten his Pro card and will now enter the professional ranks – the potential that he has shown as been nothing short of remarkable. If nothing else Oliva Jr. has proven that he has the genetic potential to be just as impressive as his father was before him.

Sergio “The Myth” Oliva was a bodybuilder with once in a lifetime potential. But it’s potential that he has passed on to his son and if Oliva Jr.’s recent showing proves anything, it’s that myths never die. They are constantly resurrected and passed on to the next generation.
