CANELO ALVAREZ: CONOR MCGREGOR DIDN’T LOSE TO NATE DIAZ

In this day and age where so many people are fans of pugilism it seems strange that the discussion of whether boxing or MMA is the ultimate combat sport is still raging on. The argument will likely never truly come to an end, but it seems that more than ever athletes from both sports are acknowledging each other and their respective sports. While an MMA fighter may have slim chances of beating a boxer in a punching match, boxers also understand that they could be out grappled in a MMA rules bout. It’s that kind of honesty these days that keeps things refreshing. Now it seems that one of boxing’s biggest stars has been conducting in some mixed martial arts talk of of his own. Saul “Canelo” Alvarez has taken over as the king of boxing ever since the retirement of undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather. Alvarez has bested some of the greatest boxers the sport has to offer and knows a thing or three about throwing leather. Usually most boxers are mum about the machinations of mixed martial arts, but when it concerns one of the hybrid sport’s biggest names it seems even Alvarez thought it fit to chime in. With the rematch between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz on deck for UFC 202, the talk amongst fans and pundits has already begun. Some believe that Diaz has McGregor’s number, while others simply think the Stockton native’s win over the Irishman was pure luck. Neither can be farther from the truth, but it’s proved to be a popular sticking point for some. Canelo Alvarez has his own thoughts on how the first fight went down and what he expects to see in the rematch this August. Take a look at the video below for the details. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g9aJ9t-fLPE Do you agree with Canelo Alvarez? Follow Generation Iron MMA on Facebook and Twitter.
