Chef Rush shares his opinion on current events in the United States after the killing of George Floyd.
Chef Rush took to Instagram about the rioting and looting taking place amidst protests. The people have had enough with the social injustice here in the U.S. Many peaceful protests have taken place worldwide being that racism is common everywhere. The human race has had enough.
George Floyd was a Black Texan man that was murdered by police officer Derek Chauvin in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In order for protests to die down a bit, a police force reform must take place.
Chef Rush says that he would have risked his life for George Floyd instead of yelling and telling the police to stop on video. There is only one way to do this, and that is by using force.
Like many protests, there are people that come out for their own agenda and that is to loot.
Chef Rush says that it makes no sense for people to be destroying buildings, looting, and robbing. Particularly in their own neighborhood. Black businesses across the nation have been destroyed due to riots. Black people are not the only ones looting however. So far, every race is playing a part in destruction. He says that doing these actions do not solve anything and to be ready because the police will do it again.
Indeed, because racism does not just disappear.
From being enslaved for over 200 years, Jim Crow, the Civil Rights Movement, and since enslavement to now, African Americans are racially profiled by racist cops. This is the reason why the people march. For change to take place.
Chef Rush deleted and blocked multiple people from his social handles because they were spreading violence and negativity. “Negativity is easy, positivity is hard,” he says.
The people are waiting on an answer for what is the correct way to end racial profiling and social injustice. The police force’s duty is to protect and serve the people, but as of late they have been abusing their power.
