Chris Bumstead Shares Hilarious Awkward Moment with Big Ramy Backstage at the Olympia

That moment when you realize there’s always someone bigger.

The 2020 Olympia had it’s fair share of surprising moments. Perhaps chief among them is that the returning Phil Heath was unable to capture the top spot in the Open Bodybuilding division. Perhaps even more surprising was Mamdouh ‘Big Ramy’ Elssbiay becoming Mr. Olympia, out dueling both Heath and 2019 winner Brandon Curry.

The truth is there were likely many moments that shocked fans and competitors alike at the 2020 Olympia. After all, this was a pretty unusual year. Unexpected moments should have perhaps been expected.

One moment that was recently revealed by reigning Olympia Classic Physique champion Chris Bumstead may take the cake however. While waiting for his turn to take to the stage, Chris Bumstead had an encounter with Big Ramy that was interesting to say the least.

The awkward moment was captured on video and shows Chris Bumstead looking intimated by the sheer size of Big Ramy. Bumstead posted the video on his Instagram page with a pretty hilarious caption.

When you’re feeling big in the gym and then big_ramy walks in…

Both men would go on to win in their respective divisions. Chris Bumstead dominated the competition in the Classic Physique division. He may be ruling over that division for the foreseeable future. That said, there’s always someone bigger and Big Ramy proved that statement with his mere presence alone.

The two also met after the Olympia for a photo shoot of champions. Do you think Chris Bumstead brought this moment to Big Ramy’s attention?

What do you make of this hilarious encounter?
