Jose curretntly works as a dishwasher at an Ale House in Charlottetown, and is seeking sponsorship to cover the costs. He told Journal Pioneer:

“The fee for tanning is $160 for one day. If I don’t get any sponsorship, I can’t go.”

Jose also said that the Lightweight class is where he prefers to compete:

“A lot of people go to the heavyweight. The lightweight class is very easy for me. Hard work, strict diet and I don’t go on social media. I have no time. The most important thing is time, and I don’t waste my time.”

These days he trains six days a week along with working his day job, pursuing the career if a personal trainer that he had in India. Jose’s wife was a champion powerlifter in India and says that at least such practices are better received in Canada.
