Who is Chuck Norris?
Chuck Norris, born Carlos Ray Norris, is an actor and American martial artist who holds multiple black belts. He followed in his father’s, who was a World War II Army soldier, and joined the United States Air Force at 18 years old. This is where he began training in Tang Soo Do.
Norris began competing and won many martial arts championships at a young age. This was also an avenue into his next venture — acting. Bruce Lee called for Norris to play a role in the 1972 film The Way of the Dragon. After this film, he began taking acting seriously and would appear in more over the next few years.
In 1984, Norris portrayed Colonel Braddock in Missing in Action as the man who returned to Vietnam to free POWs. Over the next two years, Norris would appear in Invasion U.S.A. and Code of Silence where he would take on roles protecting and serving. This sparked Norris’ career as one of the biggest action stars in the business.
Norris would go onto become an international superstar after roles in many independently made films that turned into blockbusters. He also appeared in studio films Silent Rage, Vengeance, and Lone Wolf McQuade in the 1980s. Norris also has experience on television as he starred in the popular CBS show Walker, Texas Ranger.
