COMPARISON: CAN KEVIN LEVRONE’S 2016 PHYSIQUE HOLD UP IN MR. OLYMPIA

Generation Iron Kevin Levrone 2016 Mr. Olympia

Will this turn out a true triumphant comeback or tame publicity buzz?

Professional sports aren’t usually forgiving to those competitors of advanced age. In reality an athlete can only compete for so long before reaching a point of no return, a point in which their body will no longer allow them to perform at their optimal level. It’s rare that you see many professional athletes continue to compete in a sport into their thirties much less into their forties. It’s perhaps one of the elements that set bodybuilding apart from many of the other pro sports that exist.

Well it seems that a bodybuilder from the past has made the decision to once again take to the pro stage and compete against the best in the world. If you haven’t noticed it already, Kevin Levrone has been training pretty hard these days and has been looking bigger and more impressive with every new video hes released on social media.

As already reported – Kevin Levrone has officially announced that he will be returning from retirement to compete at the 2016 Mr. Olympia. In a recent interview with NPC News Online, Kevin Levrone goes into detail.

While many may look at this announcement as nothing but a pipe dream, Levrone could have some legit chances at pulling off a major upset. It’s not out of the realm of possibility that Levrone could bring a package that could thwart the current reigning Olympia champion Phil Heath. Many might try to use his age against him – competing at the late age of 52 – but Dexter Jackson is a constant reminder that age doesn’t really matter. But here’s the big difference – Dexter Jackson has been competing consistently this entire time… Levrone cannot say the same.

Recent videos show Levrone in pretty damn good shape… but is it enough to compete with younger athletes who have been on their game over the past 5-10 years? Only time will tell – but let’s take a look at some photos of Levrone in his prime to breakdown if, even at his best, he could be a true threat to a 5x Olympia champ like Phil Heath.

If Levrone can manage to bring the same physique to the 2016 Olympia then his chances of winning could be quite high.

Do you think Kevin Levrone can pull a Dexter Jackson and crack the top 5 at this year’s Olympia?
