Austrian Death Machine is a metal band with a fascinating history and an unusual twist in their musical approach. Founded by Tim Lambesis, the band is known for its metalcore music, unique lyrics, and their dedication to all things Arnold Schwarzenegger. Their name is a nod to the former Mr. Olympia and action movie star, combining the image of Arnold with the brutal sound of a death metal machine.
The band’s inception dates back to 2008, and they released their debut album titled ‘Total Brutal’ in 2008. The album was well-received by fans and critics alike, and it set the stage for their distinctive approach to music. Songs like ‘Get to the Choppa,’ ‘If It Bleeds, We Can Kill It,’ and ‘Come With Me If You Want to Lift’ showcased the band’s love for all things Schwarzenegger and established their reputation as a metal act with a unique sense of humor.
However, Austrian Death Machine fell silent after their 2011 album ‘Double Brutal,’ leaving fans wondering if they’d ever return. Then, in a surprising turn of events, they resurfaced with a brand new music video, ‘No Pain, No Gain,’ in 2023. But what makes this comeback even more interesting is the involvement of the mass monster bodybuilder Craig Golias.
This surprising collaboration between a bodybuilder and a metal band known for their Schwarzenegger-themed lyrics and relentless sound is a match made in heaven. Fans of both the fitness and metal worlds can certainly make sure to add this song onto their workout motivation playlist.
Austrian Death Machine’s unique blend of metalcore and Arnold Schwarzenegger-inspired lyrics has resonated with fans who share a love for both metal and bodybuilding. The band’s return to the music scene is a welcome one, and their collaboration with Craig Golias adds an exciting dimension to their work.
Craig Golias spoke directly with Generation Iron on how he came to become a member of the band:
“Me and the other singer, Tim, met off Instagram for a workout. He invited me over to his house on Christmas in 2021 and we jammed out in the studio. I was in metal bands in my teen years so I had experience. We decided we should do a collab and we have been working on songs for over a year now. And just today finally it got published through a record label.”
For both fans of Austrian Death Machine and of Craig Golias, this doesn’t seem to be only a one-off collaboration. Golias has noted that they are already scheduled to film a second music video with more updates coming soon. Until then, enjoy Craig Golias putting his full HUGE energy into ‘No Pain, No Gain.’
