Daniel Scali Sets World Record With 3,249 Push-Ups In One Hour

Daniel Scali has now set the push-up record for the second time.

Daniel Scali has been able to perform certain exercises at bulk over the course of long periods of time — and has done so with a chronic pain condition. Recently, Scali took back a record that he originally set in 2022. According to Guinness World Records, Scali has set a new world record by completing 3,249 push-ups in one hour.

Scali was diagnosed with complex regional pain syndrome at 12 years old. He had to quickly learn how to live with this condition while performing physical and athletic activity. Scali explained this condition to Guinness.

“It’s the brain sending the wrong messages to my arm, which is the affected area. So, anything like soft touch, movements, wind or water will cause me pain.”

Along with taking back his push-up record, Scali also holds the world record for the longest abdominal plank, holding it for nine hours, 30 minutes, and one second.

“If you put your mind to it and your heart to it, you see it through…I had to learn to deal with the pain and overcome the mental challenges.”

Daniel Scali Re-Claims Push-Up World Record

The Guinness World Records YouTube page shared the full video of Daniel Scali doing push-ups over the course of 60 minutes on Thursday morning. In the video, you can see Scali using his own technique during this time period.

Scali originally set the record last year with 3,182 reps in 60 minutes. This record was broken in April by Lucas Helmke, who completed 3,206 reps. Now, Scali is back on top and continues to defeat all odds.

Having live with CRPS since he was young, Scali knows how to deal with the pain and persevere. During his most recent attempt at the world record, Scali pointed out the eight-minute mark where he began feeling uncomfortable.

“Living with CRPS, the pain is constantly there in my left arm. At the eight minute mark, I noticed that my arm started to get a little bit more achey; from the top of my shoulder all the way down to my hand, I started to feel the burn a bit more…My whole body otherwise felt pretty good, I just felt a little heavier as the time went on.”

Even after setting a new mark with an insane number, Scali believes that he had a little more in the tank.

“The hardest part of the record attempt was knowing that I could do more in training. Any time I went for it in the longer distance of training, I used to get quite a bit more, but obviously on game day, stress comes in and a little bit more tension, a bit more nerves, which takes a bit of my energy away.”

In April, Daniel Scali set a new mark with 992 burpees in one hour. He has attempted and conquered many records and will continue to do so, especially if one is beaten.
