DAVID & GOLIATH: HAFTHOR “THE MOUNTAIN” TRAINS STEVE COOK IN THE WAYS OF A STRONGMAN

Generation Iron Hafthor Trains Steve Cook

When Hafthor says move, you move.

This is probably one of the coolest thing we’ve seen all week. World’s strongest man Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson was getting ready for a competition when IFBB pro Steve Cook just happened to stop by; so what do you think ensued? Exactly, Steve cook goes on a full fledged 40 minute workout with “the mountain”, lifting through each segment of the strongman competition.

These guys lift some massive weights, but what’s great about this video is the teamwork, motivation and camaraderie. What you don’t know about Bjornsson is that he’s one hell of a motivator – pushing Steve Cook to his limit – both men loving it every step of the way. In the result oriented and often standoffish world of fitness competition it’s great to see two guys that are aces at their sport let loose and just do some pure, raw lifting.

So is Steve Cook jumping ship? probably not just yet, as the video says “powerlifting isn’t for pretty boys”, but who knows? Hafpor is one hell of a coach and Steve Cook appears to be a pretty good student. Check out the video below and tell us what you think!
