Did Wesley Vissers Deserve a Higher Placing at the 2019 Arnold Classic?

Did Wesley Vissers deserve more?

They say you can’t get stuck on living in the past. Moving forward should always be the option when it comes to any endeavor. Yet sometimes things aren’t as simple as that. Looking back to reflect can be just as important as moving forward. Reflecting on the Classic Physique competition at the Arnold Sports Festival can give us further insight to not only how judging is conducted, but where improvements can be made for the competitors.

While Steve Laureus and George Peterson showed that they are two of the top competitors in the Classic Physique division, the popular Wesley Vissers once again found himself at the bottom of the pack, coming in at 10th place. It just goes to show how truly talented all the Classic Physique competitors are when Wesley Vissers has trouble breaking the top 10. But did he deserve a higher placing? Well let’s take a look at some of Vissers’ recent posts below to get a bit more insight on that issue.

Hey guys. I want you guys to know that I’m happy with what I brought to the stage today. My conditioning improved and so have my legs. An improvement compared to the Olympia. Honestly I’m disappointed that I didn’t make the top 6. Not sure about the exact placing yet. Really wanted to showcase my routine. A much more detailed video will be coming regarding my experiences. Though I’m looking forward to the analysis of various people regarding this Classic Physique outcome! Anyway thank you very much for your incredible support. Means a lot to me. I’ll be at the Arnold Expo tomorrow walking around so if you see me don’t hesitate! Stay Golden. #VintageGenetics #StayGolden #ArnoldClassic

As we can see, Wesley Vissers is certainly in some great condition. His muscles are full and his definition is clear for all to see. Yet there is indeed something missing for the overall package. To venture a guess, it’s likely that Vissers needs to put on some size in the legs and lats to create even more of an X illusion while on stage. That said, 10th place may be a little low in terms of placing. Nevertheless, Wesley Vissers deciding to take time away from the stage is definitely a great call as he can have a ton of time to build muscle the right way without having to do a massive bulk. With some time and effort there’s no question that we’ll be seeing Wesley Vissers eventually crack the top 5 in the world.
