It’s no secret that Dorian Yates was a skinhead in his youth while living in Birmingham, England. But what often gets misconstrued is the true values he held and the reality of skinheads in England versus the vision of skinheads held in the United States of America and other places in the world. While the gang certainly was dangerous and propelled ignorant beliefs… for Dorian it was merely a club to join so he can feel not only included but safe during the dangerous years of Birmingham.

He was a lost soul trying to find a place in the world – and eventually bodybuilding helped him find it.
