Eddie Hall’s son, Maximus, continues to grow as a weightlifter.
2017 World’s Strongest Man (WSM) Strongman Eddie Hall is one of the best weightlifters of all-time and has passed on his incredible strength onto his son. Last week, Hall shared a video of his son, Maximus, deadlifting 165kg (363.8lb) during a training session at 13 years old. This is one of many videos that Hall shares of Maximus taking the next step during training. While sharing his own progress in the gym, Hall has kept the world updated on his son as well.
Eddie Hall is best known for becoming the first person to deadlift 500kg (1,102.3lb). This came during the 2016 World Deadlift Championships. The very next year, he was crowned champion of the World’s Strongest Man (WSM) event and solidified his spot as one of the best in Strongman. Hall took a step back from powerlifting to take on boxing. He made a significant physique transformation and took on fellow strongman Hafthor Bjornsson.
Before his first WSM victory, Hall consistently placed in high-ranking positions at other prestigious strongman events. He won the UK’s Strongest Man title six times (2011–2016) and made a strong presence at the Arnold Strongman Classic and Europe’s Strongest Man competitions. Known for his powerful build and incredible determination, Hall earned the nickname “The Beast.”
Since then, Hall has taken on many ventures in the fitness world and is watching his son follow in his footsteps. At just 13-years-old, he is achieving impressive lifts that bode well for his future in strongman should he choose to pursue it. You can watch the 115 kg deadlift below in Eddie Hall’s Instagram post:
Maximus Hall’s Early Strongman Journey
It is no surprise to see Maximus Hall follow in the footsteps of his father. At a very young age, Hall was setting up his son for a successful life in fitness by sharing the very vest techniques and tips of the trade. It doesn’t hurt that his father is a champion strongman athlete and one of the most iconic names in the sport.
It should be noted that the sub-Junior category in weightlifting athletes is up to the age of 18. Maximus is only 13 years old at the moment – giving him plenty of years to continue improving and to become a powerful force in weightlifting and perhaps strongman – should he pursue it.
At 12 years old, Maximus completed a 115kg (253lb) deadlift and set his sights on 140kg. This came on Oct. 14, 2024 so just over one year later, he has skyrocketed up to 165kg. At this pace, and with Eddie Hall in his corner, Maximus has a chance to reach great heights in the coming years as he grows into an adult athlete.
