Founder Dr. Aron D’Souza believes this will give athletes a chance to learn more about themselves and their health.
For many years across many different sports, the use of steroids has been banned and consequences were taken against athletes who were caught. In 2026, a new style of games will come to Las Vegas where the use of steroids is encouraged.
The Enhanced Games, an Olympic-style event, will take place at Resorts World Las Vegas from May 21-24. There will be events in three different sports and yes, athletes will be on different substances to enhance performance.
The three events are as followed:
- Swimming – 50m and 100m Freestyle, 50m and 100m Butterfly
- Track & Field – 100m Sprint, 100m/110m Hurdles
- Weightlifting – Snatch, Clean & Jerk
Dr. Aron D’Souza, who founded Enhanced Games, recently spoke about his vision.
“When something is so common and so used, why do it in secret? Why do it in hiding? Let’s do it out in the open and create a fair, safe environment where we can learn in a rigorous scientific way to enhance human performance.”
D’Souza referenced research funded by the International Olympic Committee and Anti-Doping Agency. It was found that 44% of track and field athletes used a banned substance over the last year with just 1% being caught.
Enhanced Games Coming to Las Vegas in 2026
There will likely be critics and pushback against this from the public who believe that steroids are dangerous and should be out of sports entirely. D’Souza did not completely disagree with the dangers of certain substances but that is if they are taken without supervision. He continued to explain how if steroids are administered by a professional, they can be safe.
“Anabolic steroids, self administered, are significantly safer than processed food and alcohol. We have to get past the hysterics and look at the science. Ultimately, the science shows that these substances can be taken safely.”
Athletes will go through different tests to be able to compete, including bloodwork, MRI’s, and echocardiograms. Competitive swimmer Andriy Govorov joined D’Souza to discuss the games. Govorov plans to break his own world record in the pool during the games. He believes that elite sports are not always safe and this is a chance for athletes to learn about themselves.
“What Enhanced Games is offering is giving an opportunity to research yourself, learn from yourself, and get that additional boost to preserve yourself.”
