Ethan Suplee talks how massive muscular physiques are going to make a comeback in popular culture – all thanks to the internet.

There was a brief moment during the 1980s when massive bodybuilder-type physiques became extremely popular in the mainstream culture. This was thanks to action movie celebrities like Arnold Schwarzenegger, a literal bodybuilder turned actor, bringing mass monster physiques into the cinemas. Suddenly it was a craze, everyone wanted to be massive. That mentality slowly disappeared in the 90s and into the 2000s. But according to Ethan Suplee, massive muscle is making a comeback and for a very specific reason. In our latest GI Exclusive interview, Ethan Suplee details how the internet is bringing back mass monster muscle to the mainstream.

Many of you already know Ethan Suplee’s story and if you haven’t – we’ve covered in detail about his epic transformation in a previous GI Exclusive interview segment. Suplee lost over 250 pounds – going from a well known overweight character actor into a muscular beast. A man almost unrecognizable to his past self. While Suplee had been focusing on exercise and losing weight previously in his life – he started making some truly amazing strides due to finding more detailed information on the internet.

According to Ethan Suplee, his past experiences with trainers was simply not working the exact way he wanted. He was losing weight – but he wasn’t building muscle the way he wanted. This is largely because one technique does not fit all body types when it comes to sculpting the human physique. Suplee was able to dig deeper and do research himself on the internet – opening his eyes to different ways he could train and diet. It changed his life and led to the insane transformation we see today.

Which brings us back to the current culture and what we consider the ideal physique. Ethan Suplee thinks that massive muscle is starting to make a comeback. Something similar to what action stars made popular during the gym boom of the 1980s. The internet is making it so that all people can discover new ways to transform their physique. Not only that – but they can share the results online and motivate others easily. Viral videos and photos in addition to a wider variety of information for all body types will certainly lead to more successful transformations.

Actors like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson are bringing bodybuilder physiques back into mainstream action films. Not only that – but he has a massive presence online via social media. He shares his motivational videos. He shares tips. And if you’re inspired by him – you can find so much information on how to start training and dieting to look like him. It will still take work – and there can be a lot of bad information on the internet as well. But Ethan Suplee thinks that this era more than any other provides opportunities for our culture to be more fit and muscular than ever.
