Vlad Yudin discusses the challenges faced by female bodybuilders in the industry today.

It’s no secret that female bodybuilding, much like many female endeavors across the globe, have faced their share of challenges. And while many improvements come year after year, there is still some unfortunate catch up that woman must undergo to have complete and equal rights as men. If not in law and on paper most certainly culturally.

Again, this holds true for bodybuilding as divisions like Women’s Open bodybuilding is falling to wayside not even appearing in major competitions like the Arnold Classic and Mr. Olympia.

In a recent news report on The Now on ABC, a local female bodybuilder’s rise to success was covered and featured a segment with Generation Iron director Vlad Yudin. Vlad discussed the ongoing challenges of being a female athlete in a sport that is widely seen as “masculine.” You can check out the short excerpt above!
