Hafthor Bjornsson Has Contracted Covid-19 After Boxing Exhibition Match

It appears that Hafthor Bjornsson has fallen on some tough times.

Just after performing ably in his recent boxing exhibition match, the towering Icelandic strongman has fallen prey to Covid-19.

News recently broke that the 2018 World’s Strongest Man had contracted the virus. Hafthor Bjornsson took to his Instagram to address the issue head on and detail what his journey has been like since getting sick.

Little update for you guys. So Saturday I started to feel ill and decided to get tested again even though I just got tested on the 19th (Tuesday) and that test came back negative. The test I did on Saturday the 23th came back positive and I’ve been laying in bed since. The next two weeks will be isolation for me. This is no joke. Stay safe people! I don’t wish this on anyone. Hopefully the world will be in a better place soon ❤️

While it may be a tough pill to swallow, Hafthor Bjornsson can bank on the fact that the survival rate for the virus is fairly high. That said, with new mutations and variants of the virus arising, the battle against this global health crisis is still very much in full swing.

The Generation Iron team wishes Hafthor Bjornsson a safe and speedy recovery.
