HARDCORE MOTIVATION: WATCH BRIAN SHAW DEADLIFTING OVER 1000 LBS!!!

Generation Iron Brian Shaw Deadlift

No one is dying tonight.

There are bodybuilders, powerlifters, and strongmen. To confuse any of them is to show your ignorance. Go ahead, call a bodybuilder a powerlifter, a strongman a powerlifter, a powerlifter a bodybuilder and wait to see the reaction. In all likelihood someone is going get offended. Each of these strength athletes bring something different to the table, all of them having their own goals and aspirations, all of them chancing a different dream. Understanding their goals is key to understanding their struggle and the reason for their resolve when it comes to training.

All that being said, whether you’re a bodybuilder, powerlifter, or a strongman, every athlete can appreciate unfathomable acts of strength. There’s a reason that strength athletes all admire the Incredible Hulk and Superman. They wish to perform the acts that other humans find to be impossible. Even a bodybuilder who focuses more on hypertrophy and building muscle can appreciate lifting heavy weight. For some it’s simply a matter of pride. For others it’s proving that you’re the alpha.

For anyone looking to prove just how strong they are then there’s an exercise that you should consider. There’s no argument that the ultimate test of strength has to be the deadlift. There’s a reason it’s a staple of powerlifting and there’s a reason that every strength athlete employs the move in their routine. Deadlifts build a tremendous amount of strength and power.

Brian Shaw may not be a powerlifter, but he understands that in order to gain strength as a strongman that he has to rely on strength building exercises like the deadlift. There’s a reason he’s the World’s Strongest Man after all. But that being said, the ability to lift over 1000 lbs is something that very few men have accomplished, much less strongmen. But Shaw is looking for more than just accolades, he’s looking to achieve something for himself. To prove that he’s an alpha athlete. Take a look at the impressive feat below as he pulls an over 1000 lbs deadlift.
