The Men’s Open division will see an increase in prize money across 21 bodybuilding shows.

On Monday, the IFBB Pro League announced a new partnership that will immediately impact prize money across the biggest division in the sport of bodybuilding.

IFBB Pro League Vice President Tyler Manion took to Instagram to share a new partnership with MIT45 and Uprising Extracts. Due to this new partnership, the league will be able to raise the minimum prize money across 21 bodybuilding shows by $10,000. This is a total of $210,000 across the bodybuilding season that will be added into the prize money fund.

“We would love to welcome Uprising, powered by MIT45, as our new corporate sponsor of the IFBB Pro Open Men’s Bodybuilding division.”

There are many shows that hand out a prize that is well above the minimum but this move will continue to build across the board.

“This is extremely exciting for the IFBB Pro League.”

Final Callout

IFBB Pro League Increasing First & Second Place Prizes

Tyler Manion continued to explain how the money will be divided. The minimum first-place prize will go from $10,000 to $15,000 while second-place winners will get $9,000, which is a big jump from $4,000.

“What makes this even more exciting is that because of this sponsorship, the minimum prize money forever Men’s Open show is going to be raised $10,000. Now, of course we have some shows that give away more than the minimum price money but this is going to effect 21 Men’s Open bodybuilding shows, which means $210,000 is going to be injected into the prize money.”

Early on, the reaction to this news has been positive just by the looks of the comment section on the video. The IFBB Pro League will hope that this brings a bit more incentive for competitors to take the stage during the year. This boost in prize money will also ease the burden for promoters of these bodybuilding events.

The idea of improving the prize money for bodybuilders across the board is something that has been discussed at length in the past. It has been brought up by competitors, present and former, and this is a move to help reach this goal.
