James Hollingshead Talks 2024 Arnold Classic Prep, Aspirations: “I Can Beat Samson”

James Hollingshead is preparing to take the stage in Columbus and believes he can beat the reigning champ.

James Hollingshead is preparing to take the stage during the 2024 Arnold Classic and has high expectations. There is a loaded group that will take the stage in Columbus and Hollingshead is part of it if he shows up at his very best. At 100%, who will the favorite be in the show? Hollingshead believes that he can beat reigning champion, Samson Dauda, at the Arnold Classic if he is not at his best.

Hollingshead has appeared in the Olympia multiple times recently. He won the 2022 Tsunami Cup Pro to punch his ticket last year. Hollingshead enjoyed his best season as a pro in 2020, when he was victorious during the Europa Pro Championships and British Grand Prix.

“I think if I was to eat up a little bit now and manipulate water and bring it down, it would probably be a damn good look right now. It could be interesting.

I think I’ve only been about 85%. I’ve never known how to peak for a show. I’ve always guessed.”

Hollingshead joined The Menace Podcast to discuss his prep for the upcoming Arnold Classic.

James Hollingshead Believes He Can Beat Samson Dauda

Samson Dauda pulled off a bit of an upset last year when he defeated Nick Walker on the Arnold Classic stage. He ended up finishing third at the Olympia. James Hollingshead recently spoke on his prospects for the upcoming show.

“I can beat Samson. I can beat him but it’s whether he’s 100% or not.

I believe I’ve got him on details. It’s just that Samson has such a nice structure, flow, and fullness. You can’t take away from him, his strengths. They are different things, totally different. Samson has the ideal silhouette.”

Dauda became known for his incredible size on stage, along with his conditioning that is eye-popping.

“If he is as he is right now, 270 and you see he has one pound to lose of body fat and let’s say 10 pounds of water. If he is 260, dry as a desert on the stage with thickness and everything and just creates illusion of the width and fullness.”

James Hollingshead will be one of the dark-horse contenders on stage during the Arnold Classic. It will be interesting to see how he compares to some of the other top competitors in the world.
