The Spanish bodybuilding sensation has confirmed his first Men’s Open competition after building a massive following
One of bodybuilding’s most intriguing rising stars is preparing to take the next major step in his career. Jose Manuel Muñoz, better known as Josema Beast, is reportedly set to make his Men’s Open bodybuilding debut at the 2027 Pittsburgh Pro.
The news gives fans a date to circle on the calendar as Josema prepares to test his physique against some of the biggest competitors in professional bodybuilding.
Josema Beast Continues His Rapid Rise in Bodybuilding
Josema has become one of the sport’s most recognizable young talents, generating considerable attention on social media thanks to his massive physique, impressive muscular development, and striking conditioning.
The Spanish standout previously competed in Classic Physique, where he established himself as a serious contender against some of the division’s biggest names.
He finished fourth at the 2025 Mr. Olympia, demonstrating that he could compete with the world’s elite Classic Physique athletes.
However, his continued muscular development eventually led to a major career decision.
During the 2026 Pittsburgh Pro, Josema announced that he would be leaving Classic Physique behind and transitioning to Men’s Open bodybuilding.
The move immediately generated excitement among fans eager to see how his physique would translate to a division without the same weight restrictions.
Now, his first official competition in the new division appears to be set.
Pittsburgh Pro Will Be a Major Test for Josema
The Pittsburgh Pro has become one of bodybuilding’s most prominent competitions outside the Arnold Classic and Mr. Olympia. Mass monster Michal Krizo took last year’s competition on the way to a 6th place finish at Mr. Olympia.
For Josema, the 2027 event will represent an opportunity to prove that his impressive physique can hold its own against established Men’s Open competitors.
Unlike Classic Physique, the Men’s Open division does not impose a weight limit, allowing competitors to pursue greater muscular size while maintaining the conditioning, symmetry, and presentation necessary to impress the judges.
That transition can be challenging, particularly when facing athletes who have spent years developing the mass required to compete at the highest level.
However, Josema’s combination of muscularity, conditioning, and growing popularity makes his debut especially intriguing.
The biggest question will be whether he can bring enough overall size to challenge experienced Open competitors without sacrificing the qualities that helped make him successful in Classic Physique.
His debut will also provide an early indication of how quickly he might become a contender for bodybuilding’s biggest titles.
For now, one thing is certain: Josema Beast’s move to Men’s Open has become one of the most interesting storylines heading into the 2027 bodybuilding season.
