After a tough New York Pro, Juan Morel reassesses his strategy.
There comes a time in every competitive athlete’s career when they have to sit back, take a good look at what’s going on, and assess if they’re giving themselves the best shot at victory. Many competitive athletes will hit a wall and rather than dissect the situation, find out what went wrong, and fix it, they’d rather make excuses, blame their failure on outside forces, claiming that they would have been better if not for this and carry on the same way as if doing so will somehow ensure victory the next time out.
For a bodybuilder, such a thought process will ensure only one thing: continued failure. But it’s the athlete who sits back and takes time to work out the kinks that will ultimately be better for it. In order to improve in a sport like bodybuilding you must be willing to recognize and point out your weaknesses then attack them without mercy. By doing so they may not end up being the best, but they will at least have a better chance at becoming the best version of themselves and really that’s what the whole endeavor is about in the first place.
