JUAN MOREL ANNOUNCES HE WILL TAKE A FULL YEAR OFF COMPETING

Juan Morel Takes Year Off Generation Iron

After a tough New York Pro, Juan Morel reassesses his strategy.

There comes a time in every competitive athlete’s career when they have to sit back, take a good look at what’s going on, and assess if they’re giving themselves the best shot at victory. Many competitive athletes will hit a wall and rather than dissect the situation, find out what went wrong, and fix it, they’d rather make excuses, blame their failure on outside forces, claiming that they would have been better if not for this and carry on the same way as if doing so will somehow ensure victory the next time out.

For a bodybuilder, such a thought process will ensure only one thing: continued failure. But it’s the athlete who sits back and takes time to work out the kinks that will ultimately be better for it. In order to improve in a sport like bodybuilding you must be willing to recognize and point out your weaknesses then attack them without mercy. By doing so they may not end up being the best, but they will at least have a better chance at becoming the best version of themselves and really that’s what the whole endeavor is about in the first place.

It seems that Juan Morel has learned that notion well.

After taking sixth place at this years NY Pro, Juan Morel has chosen to assess his weak points and figure out how exactly he can improve. Morel took to Instagram to inform his fans of exactly what he has planned and from the looks of things, the plan is quite drastic.

Okay everyone so here it is; I’m officially offseason. I’m taking a whole year off, yes you heard that right, a whole year! I am not going to try and qualify for the Olympia, I need a break- my body is tired and I’m tired… I have been consistently competing since 2014 without a real offseason; I competed in 16 shows from 2014 till now!! And we all know an offseason is a must to make improvements and changes. It’s time for me to make a dramatic change to my physique. Since I have been a pro I’ve never had a full year off season. This will be my first & I’m going to get huge- not gonna try and grow while maintaining abs cause let’s be serious you really can’t grow and try to stay lean. I’m going to get huge that’s how I always made my best improvements!! I’m going to eat like a beast everyday, I will eat big to get big and gonna train like a bigger beast- 2017 the Diesel is gonna come back bigger and better!!
