This Just Might Be (Seriously) The Most Motivational Video…Ever.

“Age is  nothing but a number”

Ernestine Shepherd is an 80 year old bodybuilder. In fact, she’s the oldest bodybuilder to ever grace the stage according to the Guinness book of world records. But besides her age, this woman is great for so many reasons. Living out half of her sister’s dream to become the oldest bodybuilding siblings in history, Ernestine has inspired so many, and after this video we’re sure you will be too.

Ernestine and her sister were two peas in a pod, wherever one went, the other wasn’t far behind. One day during a bikini shopping session, the sedetary school secretary and her sis decided they were going to get in shape and made a pact to hit the gym. But shortly after her sister suffered a brain anurism and died suddenly.

Ernestine took the death hard and became a virtual recluse. Her physical as well as her mental health started to deteriorate, going through bouts of depression, high blood pressure, and hypertension. Then one night Ernestine says her sister come to her in a dream and told her to “Get up!”. Although it was hard, Ernestine found a way to get out and about and eventually started going to the gym. At the age of 71 she started training for her first bodybuilding contest and by the age of 74 she was taking 1st place as well as breaking a Guinness book world record.

The record breaker and trendsetter is now a personal trainer who inspires other senior citizens to live their best life. If you think she’s doing this for herself you really need to watch this video as the people in her community speak so highly of her that she even brings one of her clients to tears.

We don’t care how much you lift, this story will inspire you in a way you never thought an 80 year old could. Just a word of warning, you might want to watch this by yourself as the Kleenex box will definitely be empty by the end of the video.
