Justin Shier discussed a bad batch of PEDs he got during contest prep.

Open bodybuilder Justin Shier burst onto the scene already in his rookie year. He made an impact right away in his pro debut and can now prepare for the biggest show of the year. Shier has been open about his prep and recently discussed a bad batch of PEDs he got leading up to a show.

Shier was crowned champion during the 2021 NPC National Championships and was able to earn his Pro Card. He made his professional debut just a few weeks ago during the 2023 Chicago Pro. Shier dominated the competition and was able to win his first show. He is now qualified for the Olympia and will have a chance to compete against the best in the world.

Shier joined Guy Cisternino and Nick Walker on a recent episode of the Mutant & The Mouth podcast to talk about his victory plus prep for Tampa. This is where the bodybuilder opened up about getting a “bunk” batch of PEDs during his prep.

“This is a bodybuilding podcast. We take drugs as bodybuilders. I had some bunk drugs and it f*cked me up.”

Justin Shier Discusses PEDs, Weight Loss Following Bad Batch

Justin Shier recalls dropping a significant amount of weight in a short period of time during his contest prep. This is when he knew that something was wrong with what he was taking during that time.

“I switched sources at that six-week out mark. I switched everything and it was like, in what, in 10 days I dropped 13 pounds. Yeah, Im all good now. Everything is bang on now. F*cking 13 pounds in 10 days. It was dramatic. Matt was like ‘dude, you look like you’re on f*cking deca and anadrols. You need to find out your source because you should not look like that.'”

Shier continued to discuss how he reached out to Cisternino about substances. As a retired bodybuilder, Cisternino had extra and was able to send Shier what he needed to improve his physique. Shier also discussed how all bodybuilders run into bumps in the road during prep.

“Uncle Guy next day’d me some stuff that was a lifesaver. I think just the stress relief of that and my body immediately started responding. Like dude this is bodybuilding. Nobody has like these perfect preps. Everyone has a story where something happened. That’s why I don’t ever talk about it like ‘I would have looked better, but.’ It’s everybody would have looked better, but,” Shier said.

“Three days later he texted me like ‘bro, my whole body is like completely changed.’ It was a couple days later. You were like ‘that was definitely the f*cking problem,'” Cisternino said.

Justin Shier is back on track and was able to turn things around quickly. Now, he can fully focus on prepping for his Olympia debut come November.
