Lionel Beyeke implicated in recent Eric Favre case.

The bodybuilding world has seen it’s fair share of eye opening events take place within the last couple of months. After the arrest of Eric Favre in France for alleged trafficking of steroids, it appears that Favre’s sponsored athlete and IFBB veteran Lionel Beyeke was detained as well.

After missing the Arnold Classic Brazil, it was clear that something wasn’t on the level with Lionel Beyeke’s absence. Now it appears that the real reason for the bodybuilder missing the big show has been revealed. In a recent post on Instagram, Lionel Beyeke addressed his fans and followers, letting them and the world know exactly why he was unable to attend the 2019 Arnold Classic Brazil.

hello my friends I want to apologize for for my absence in Brazil. my sponsor has problems with justice. and the police put all the athletes of the team and all those collaborators … in detention. I was stopped at the airport for my departure in Brazil on Tuesday 9th April at 8am. I was released on Monday. and I did not have access to my cell phone. I really wanted to apologize for everything. I’m really disgusted, it’s going to be 2 competitions or I’m getting ready and at the last oneminute, there is a problem. but I trust God because I know that everything God does is good. All my support goes to #ericfavre. in my opinion is not a drugs dealer like they said. #faith #determination #motivation #thankGod #Godisbig #JESUSTHELORD

This comes as a major shock as the arrest implicates that Lionel Beyeke had involvement in the alleged illegal activity Eric Favre is being accused of. While we still don’t know the extent of his involvement in this case, both Lionel Beyeke and Eric Favre are considered innocent until proven guilty.

Generation Iron will provide more details as they become available in this developing story.
