Strength Wars Movie

Luke Richardson’s deadlift is nothing new for the remarkably talented strongman and powerlifter. He regularly updates fans on his progress in the gym and is often sharing some truly incredible feats. Check out the video below, where he absolutely shreds an 838 lb (380 kg) triple axle deadlift.

Richardson is best known for becoming the youngest person to ever deadlift 2,205 lb (1,000 kg) at the tender age of 21. He shows no signs of slowing down on his quest for fitness greatness, as his updates regularly show.

Richardson is busy prepping for the 2020 Europe’s Strongest Man contest and he’s definitely a competitor for the title. He regularly shares impressive updates to his Instagram page which steadily chart his growth as an athlete and powerlifter.

Like any professional involved in strength sports, Richardson clearly knows the importance of working every angle of a physique. He’s not in there doing chest and arms every other day like an amateur; he understands the relationship that all the muscles in the body have to one another. Refining musculature is a delicate task for an athlete, although powerlifters have it easier than bodybuilders in that respect because they’re aiming to cram the most brute strength possible into their bodies, whereas bodybuilders have to worry about aesthetics and symmetry. You can really see that in the difference in how their physiques turn out. Richardson is incredible broad and most of his muscle mass is concentrated in the top of his body. Makes perfect sense for a man suited to lifting thousands of pounds in the gym every day. For fun.

Richardson also practices good safety in the gym, as evidenced by the support belt he wears and the several grips on his ankles and wrists. This is another key difference for aspiring powerlifters to take note of. Powerlifting has the potential for deadlier injuries than bodybuilding (in general), because of the extreme stress it places on the back and and knees. Always having a spotter when you do exercises at this level in the gym is crucial to your safety, since even one injury can mean the end of a career or, if you’re unlucky, the end of your life.

Powerlifter Luke Richardson knows this and he’s clearly here to stay. With an impressive technique, a clearly visible drive to get things done, and work ethic that should leave his enemies shaking in their boots, it’s clear this man is destined for greatness on the world stage. Deadlifting that much weight is no easy feat and getting there can only be achieved with the right combination of skill, perseverance, and genetic disposition. Richardson has the makings of a true champion. Only time will tell if he has what it takes to realize this grand destiny.
