Bodybuilder Marc Hector Ends 2022 Season Due To Knee Injury

Injury

Marc Hector will heal up and return for the 2023 bodybuilding season.

Men’s Open bodybuilder Marc Hector has announced that he will be out for the remainder of the 2022 season because of a knee injury. He took to Instagram over the weekend to make it official.

Hector was preparing to take the stage this weekend but he received news that he would have to put his path on hold.

“That’s a wrap for my 2022 bodybuilding season. Unfortunately, due to unexpected circumstances in the last 24hours my hand has been forced I am unable to compete as planned next weekend.

To keep this short and to the point. I had been nursing an injured left knee (I still don’t know how this happened as there was no direct injury) for the last 10 days or so.

Yesterday on my morning walk my leg locked up again causing major swelling and fluid around my knee.”

Marc Hector Shares Details On Knee Injury

Marc Hector went to see various doctors to get the full diagnosis on his injury. He said there was many possibilities and it ranged from bursitis to a meniscus tear or quad tendon partial rupture.

“The last person I spoke with was an orthopaedic doctor who was the highest level person I could speak with yesterday. The verdict was it was either point 3 or 4 above, but an MRI will give more clarity on this over the coming weeks.

I’m currently on crutches, I can’t bend my leg and the swelling/fluid is still there.”

Marc Hector had not yet qualified for the 2022 Olympia and that is what he was planning to do during competition this weekend. In 2022, Hector has competed twice and finished in the top five in both. This included a third-place finish during the Tsunami Nutrition Pro.

Hector will now be able to rehab his injury and come back stronger than ever during the 2023 campaign.
