Marina Castillo Pardo broke the U67.5KG Raw Squat World Record With Massive 227.5-kilogram Lift in Richmond.

Marina Castillo Pardo added her name to the history books with a massive, record-breaking performance at the 2026 PLU American Pro.

The Chilean powerlifter competed in the U67.5KG division at the event in Richmond, Virginia, on Aug. 8. Castillo Pardo went a perfect nine-for-nine across the squat, bench press, and deadlift while producing the biggest lift of her career.

The highlight came on her final squat attempt, when Castillo Pardo successfully lifted 227.5 kilograms (501.6 pounds) to set a new U67.5KG Raw Squat World Record.

Marina Castillo Pardo Breaks Raw Squat World Record

Castillo Pardo weighed in at just 63.5 kilograms (140 pounds), well below the U67.5KG weight limit, before putting together a flawless day on the platform.

She opened her squat attempts at 205 kilograms (451.9 pounds) and completed the lift without issue. Castillo Pardo then made a substantial jump for her second attempt, successfully squatting 220 kilograms (485 pounds).

That set the stage for a world-record attempt.

Castillo Pardo called for 227.5 kilograms (501.6 pounds) on her third squat. Wearing a lifting belt and knee sleeves, she approached the monolift, controlled the weight through the descent, reached the required depth, and powered the bar back to lockout.

The successful attempt gave Castillo Pardo the U67.5KG Raw Squat All-Time World Record.

The previous record belonged to Naomi Sheppard, who squatted 227 kilograms (500.4 pounds) at the 2025 IPA Cincinnati Women’s Pro Am. Castillo Pardo surpassed that mark by 0.5 kilograms.

She has competed in nine sanctioned meets and has earned eight victories. Her accomplishments include a victory at the 2026 ABS Pro, along with multiple elite squat performances.

Castillo Pardo also owns the Raw With Wraps Squat All-Time World Record, further demonstrating the lower-body strength that has become her calling card.

Her performance in Richmond was particularly impressive considering she weighed only 63.5 kilograms. Her 227.5-kilogram world-record squat was approximately 3.58 times her bodyweight.

Castillo Pardo also completed all nine attempts, added a competition PR on the bench press, and finished with a career-best total.

The 2026 American Pro has already produced several historic performances across the weight classes, and Castillo Pardo’s 501.6-pound squat adds another world record to the list.
