Unless you had a massive gym set up at your house for just this occasion, you’re probably wondering how to keep up your fitness routine now that you can’t go outside.
Mark Wahlberg is among many celebrities who have shared free, easy-to-implement home workouts that can inspire you to stay fit even if you don’t have access to all the equipment you usually would at the gym. He shared updates with his fans over Instagram this week to show us all how it’s done.
“Let’s all work out together and try to clear our minds during these difficult times,” Wahlberg shared. The actor and social media star has been involved in strength and fitness for some time now, though he was recently forced to shut down a planned in-person workout due to coronavirus restrictions. Livestreams and home workouts offer great alternatives to traditional workouts that could spread the disease. Even though Mark Wahlberg definitely has a home gym set-up to make the rest of our mouths water, most of what he’s doing can be done at home with your own materials.
He also recently went live with fitness partner F45 Training to offer a free at-home workout session to anyone who tuned in. For subscribers, F45 Training is currently offering home workout livestreams at a variety of difficulty levels for anyone looking to keep training at home.
Working out from home can be easy if you’re willing to get a little creative with it. A basic yoga mat is pretty much all you need to create a safe space to be working out. If you have weights or a treadmill at home, that’s even better. Either way, even without a full home gym, there are lots of ways you can still be keeping in shape from the comfort of your living room. You can take advantage of a lot of the free workout resources that have been made available during this difficult time — Arnold Schwarzenegger recently made public his old home workout routines and there are plenty of home workout guides available for when you can’t make it to the gym.
Mark Wahlberg is making the best of a bad situation by encouraging all of us to stay fit. Check out another video he recently shared, where he encouraged everyone to remain active while staying at least is feet apart, per the CDC’s recommendation:
You can still get in all the basics from home — crunches, lunges, sit-ups, chin-ups, etc. can all be done basically anywhere you go. Don’t lose hope; there’s light at the end of the tunnel yet. With nothing to do all day, you could come out of this situation incredibly cut and ready to make even bigger gains in the gym. Plus, once you get adjusted to working out every day at home using only what’s around you, imagine how good it will feel to finally get back in the gym!
