MICKEY ROURKE’S BOXING “VICTORY” IN MOSCOW

Generation Iron Mickey Rourke Boxing Victory

Did the accomplished actor make a successful return to the ring?

Over the Thanksgiving weekend, Hollywood star and narrator for Generation Iron, Mickey Rourke, was involved in an exhibition boxing match in Moscow on the undercard of the light welterweight clash between Ruslan Provodnikov and Jose Luis Castillo. The 62 year old actor managed to pull off the TKO in the second round against his 29 year-old opponent, Elliot Seymour. Take a look below.

Many boxing fans believe the match was fixed. The Post has reported that many sources claim that Elliot Seymour was a desperate homeless man who was paid to take a fall. So was this all a big publicity stunt? Probably a little of column A and a little of column B – but despite the controversy, it takes guts to step into the ring at 62 years old and for Rourke to venture back into the sport after all this time is extremely commendable. Perhaps the fight was faked, but the way he looked to be in top shape for the bout was not. That in itself shows a great level of commitment.  What are your thoughts on Mickey back in the ring at the ripe age of 62?
