Oh Yohan holds the world record for pull-ups in one day.
Pull-ups is an incredible exercise that challenges upper-body strength targeting your lats, among other muscles.
While many might struggle to put together sets on the pull-up bar, the same cannot be said for South Korean man Oh Yohan. In September, Yohan completed exactly 11,707 pull-ups in a 24-hour period. On June 6, this was officially confirmed a world record by Guinness World Records.

“Oh Yohan’s record-breaking journey began in 2019 during his military service. Inspired by a former record holder yet challenged by rising competition, he pushed through doubts with unwavering support from his family, friends, and fellow soldiers. After years of training and enduring a demanding 24-hour challenge, he succeeded and proudly dedicated his result to his military unit, which shaped his discipline, strength, and spirit.”
Yohan previously held this record, completing 8,707 reps in 24 hours, before it was broken by Kenta Adachi of Japan and his performance of 8,940 pull-ups. Doug Martin went onto break this record with an incredible 9,250 reps.
Yohan began preparing to retake his record right away but put it on hold as his wife gave birth to their second child. He is a former military man who shared his experience on Guinness’ post of his latest accomplishment.
“I served in the Republic of Korea 707th Special Mission Group. To honour the number 707, which represents the unit I served in, I finished my pull-up challenge at 11,707 reps.”
