R.I.P. THE MONSTER

Today is a sad sad day. Former UFC heavyweight champion and MMA Pioneer Kevin Randleman has passed away at age 44. According to multiple sources  Randleman went to a local hospital with pneumonia and suffered from heart failure while undergoing treatment. Randleman is a two-time NCAA champion at the University of Ohio State – who started his MMA career by entering a one night tournament in Brazil.  Randleman went on to win the tournament by defeating Pride Champion Dan Bobish and 8 months later he was signed to a UFC contract. “The Monster” ended up beating Maurice Smith in his UFC debut and collecting a bag of skulls along his UFC career. Pete Williams and a Mirko Cro Cop are some of his most notable defeats, ending Cro Cop with one of the meanest left hooks you’ll ever seen. It’s intense – check it out below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A5ctB07pLyQ While Fedor Emelianenko wasn’t one of those skulls, he did have the SLAM HEARD ROUND THE WORLD against  him. If this slam had landed against anyone other than “The Last Emperor”, we’re sure it would of been night night – unfortunately for randleman it was against Mr. Ice cold himself and Fedor went on to win the bout. https://youtu.be/5qZu_6LABEA It’s safe to say Randleman was easily one of the most exciting fighters and paved the way for MMA today. R.I.P. Kevin Randleman, you have given us a debt we cannot repay. Be sure to follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
