Generation Iron Mr. Universe No Meat Diet

No meat. Stronger gains.

When it comes to packing on the pounds, of muscle of course, it means you have to have a few elements in check. Firstly you have to design a workout split that will stimulate growth in all of the major body parts. Second, you must have a diet plan that’s going to push you in the right direction. It’s the reason why so many bodybuilders follow a strict diet plan that centers around macronutrition. No matter a bodybuilder’s experience level you’re always likely to hear them talk about getting the right amount of carbs, fats, and protein throughout the day in order for their bodies to not only grow, but have energy as well.

When it comes to doing the actual work in the gym that last bit of info is perhaps the most important. If you’re looking to stimulate growth in your muscles then that means you need to have the energy to push yourself hard during a workout. Energy, along with strength is a major factor in continuing to grow all your major body parts.

A traditional bodybuilders diet will consist of greens, rice or sweet potato, and some kind of protein source, many times lean meat like chicken or steak. It’s been the tried and true formula for years. But it seems that these days anyone can become a bodybuilder, even someone who practices vegetarianism and veganism.

Many bodybuilders scoff at the idea of having to cut meat out of their diets. Cutting meat protein out of their diet seems to be foolish mostly because they believe that there’s no other way to get an adequate amount of protein or calories in general.

But apparently going on a vegan diet may have some added benefits. According to 2014 Mr. Universe Barny du Plessis, veganism can also ensure that you have even more strength and energy during your training.

Would you ever cut meat out of your diet?
