Nick Walker Says Jo Palacios Crossed the Line Before Tampa Pro as Trash Talk Gets Personal

The rivalry between Nick Walker and Jo Palacios didn’t end when they stepped off the Tampa Pro stage.

Following his dominant victory at the 2026 Tampa Pro, Walker addressed several comments Palacios made before the contest. While he had no issue with confidence or physique comparisons, Walker said the discussion became too personal. And after settling things onstage, he didn’t hold back.

“I f*ing annihilated Jo.”**

Walker made the comment in an Instagram Story while reflecting on the weekend, making it clear he viewed his performance as the ultimate response to Palacios’ pre-show remarks.

Nick Walker Says Jo Palacios Crossed the Line Before Tampa Pro

Leading into the Tampa Pro, Palacios generated headlines by confidently predicting he had the type of physique judges were looking for over Walker. According to Walker, one comment stood out above the rest.

Walker said he took offense when Palacios suggested he was “everything they wanted Nick to be.”

“One of the comments that Jo made that I found a little disrespectful toward me was basically… ‘I’m everything that they wanted Nick to be.’ I just found that to be very disrespectful.”

Walker admitted those comments immediately added fuel to the fire.

“I had to make sure that not only did I beat Jo, but I would f***ing annihilate Jo. And that’s exactly what I did.”

Walker also addressed comments involving family motivation.

According to Walker, Palacios suggested that having a child gave him greater motivation heading into the contest. Walker pushed back on that idea, saying every competitor has their own reasons for sacrificing and competing at the highest level.

“I don’t have a kid. You’re right. But I have a family that does everything they possibly can for me. That’s all the motivation I need to win every show I need to win.”

He ended with one final message directed at Palacios.

“You don’t know my life. You don’t know anything about my life. Let’s just stick to bodybuilding and not make s*** so personal.”

Walker Let His Physique Do the Talking

Trash talk has always been part of bodybuilding, especially before major Olympia qualifiers.

Palacios had every right to express confidence in his physique and explain why he believed he could beat Walker. Competitors often try to gain a psychological edge before stepping onstage.

Walker, however, felt the conversation crossed a line once it shifted from physiques to personal motivation.

When the lights came on in Tampa, Walker made sure there was little room for debate.

He brought one of his sharpest packages of the season and controlled the Men’s Open lineup from prejudging through the finals, earning a convincing victory and punching his ticket to the 2026 Mr. Olympia. Palacios, meanwhile, finished well behind him after entering the contest with plenty of confidence.

Whether the rivalry continues into another contest remains to be seen. But if the two competitors find themselves sharing another stage, there’s already plenty of history between them. And based on Walker’s latest comments, he won’t be forgetting the Tampa Pro buildup anytime soon.
