Yet another fitness event has been postponed amid fears of the coronavirus.
This time, Muscle Contest International was forced to announce over Instagram that they were postponing the 2020 NPC/IFBB Fitworld competition and events after Culver City passed emergency legislation to cancel ll non-essential city events for four weeks. The drastic measure was taken after Culver City reported its first case of coronavirus, which doctors suspect is not the only one in the community.

COO Terrick El Guindy also gave an official statement to concerned fans wondering if and when the event would be back on.
“We will postponing the competition until further notice, due to the restrictions applied by the city of Culver City, California,” El Guindy said. “We will let you know as soon as possible when the event will be rescheduled. Every athlete, ticket holder, and sponsor will carry the credit for that event.”
The news was disappointed to some fans, especially those who had been dieting and training for the competition. Even though the sudden cancellation of the event is for the health and safety of everyone involved, people are understandably crushed that their hard work and excitement has led up to nothing.
“on god i’m not about to diet for another 2 months, I don’t want a credit I want my money back,” commented one frustrated user after the news was announced.
Fans were also quick to point out that the LA Grand Prix is also slated to take place in Culver City within the window of time when public events were banned. As of March 13, it’s unclear if the Grand Prix is also cancelled or if it will be moved to another venue.
