The 2021 NY Pro has finally been announced.
In an Instagram post yesterday, Bev Francis Powerhouse Gym revealed the official date and location of the 2021 NPC NY Pro, one of the main IFBB events that allows pros to showcase their talents and preparedness for tough competitive schedule ahead. While the official schedule has not yet been announced, the date has been set for Saturday, May 15th, 2021 at the Tampa Marriott on Water Street. Only those who are already IFBB-pro certified may compete in the event. Which big names will be returning to the stage is yet to be determined as registration only opened yesterday, but the NY Pro remains one of the most popular and enduring IFBB competitions for those looking to get into serious shape. It also gives athletes a chance to showcase their interest in competing in the Olympia the following year.
The NY Pro is being hosted in Tampa, Florida, this year, probably due to COVID-19 concerns. Many New York City event spaces are not available during the pandemic since close conditions in New York make social distancing and disinfecting event spaces a serious problem. But that’s not likely to stop thousands of excited fans and competitors from flocking to the 2021 NY Pro this year. As of the announcement, in-person tickets are being sold and a livestream option is available for those who are unable to make it to Tampa for the event. Tanning, hair, and make-up will be provided by ICE Tanning, the longtime makeup partner of the IFBB league.
