Team Of Fairfield Bodybuilders Dominates Model Mania NSW

Fairfield bodybuilders dominate.

This weekend, Ahmed Al Nasir was crowned the overall Champion of the Model Mania NSW competition, taking two gold medals in the 70kg and under 171cm classes.

Al Nasir was just one member of the Weatherill Park-based Body Action Fitness Centre team which captured a total of five golds, five silver and four bronze medals at the Central Coast event.

Centre owner and team coach Firas Jirjees himself has won many Australian and international bodybuilding awards. He told The Daily Telegraph this competition marks the team’s most successful outing to date.

Jirjees emigrated to Australia in 2014 and immediately opened a gym with the intention of breeding nationally competitive athletes.

He said, “In four years my team has won 21 gold medals, 13 silver medals, eight bronze medals and two overall titles. I started bodybuilding at the age of 15 back in 1996 and my first competitive show was in 1998 where I won Mr Iraq title.

“In 2001, I competed first time outside Iraq and got silver medal in the Middle East competition.”

He has won several gold medals in Arab championships, and last year took the coveted Arnold Classic Australia title.

“During my bodybuilding career I have done a lot of research, attended seminars, paid senior coaches to improve my skills and knowledge for fitness. I believe learning is a never ending process.”
