Opinion: Should There Be an Olympia Overall Competition?

Who would be crowned Olympia overall champion?

The Olympia features the best of the best in multiple different divisions in bodybuilding. From Men’s Physique to Classic Physique, the 212 Division to Open Weight, there are a host of different competitors all vying for the top spot in their respective divisions, all in the hopes of being crowned an Olympia champion in their respective divisions.

With that said, leaving the Olympia with multiple different champions crowned always raises the question as to who was the most impressive at the show? How would 212 champion Flex Lewis stack up to Classic Physique champion Breon Ansley? How would newly crowned Men’s Physique champion Brandon Hendrickson stack up to Mr. Olympia himself Shawn Rhoden?

At the end of the day it’s just speculation. But what if it wasn’t? What if all the Olympia champions faced off to decide who the best of the best truly was?

For many the answer would simply be “Mr. Olympia is obviously the best!” and would dismiss any of the other champions competing at the show. But maybe it’s not all that simple. When you compare all the Olympia champions together what you’ll find are competitors who all have their very own unique qualities that make them stand out.

While it would likely never happen, mostly due to the fact that the other champions would be diminished by losing an overall competition, there’s nothing wrong with a little speculation. Here’s some comparisons of all the current champions in the Men’s divisions.
