Pedro Pascal’s Bodyweight Workout Used for ‘The Last of Us’

Pedro Pascal has stayed in shape using a very specific bodyweight workout.

Actor Pedro Pascal has been on top of his game in recent years. He has been featured in many hits, including The Last of Us, and has prepared his physique for each of his roles. During an interview with GQ, Pascal shared what bodyweight workout he uses to stay in the best shape possible.

Pascal is known for his roles in The Mandalorian and Narcos. The 50-year-old actor has received attention for his physique on screen but has kept his fitness routine under wraps. Pascal’s trainer, David Higgins, shared his full body weight exercise, which features “a lot of abs and mobility.”

“It was about being mobile and strong and efficient with his movements. It was grounded in the character more than anything else. He was playing a sort of tough, hard man so it was more of a mental transformation.”

Pedro Pascal’s Bodyweight Workout

The exact bodyweight workout features five workouts performed in a circuit. Pascal goes through the exercises five times and does each for one minute. There is 30 seconds of rest in-between rounds.

  • Mountain Climbers
  • Bulgarian Split Squats
  • Swimmers
  • Push-Ups
  • Planks

“He’s so athletic and he has so much potential. He doesn’t necessarily realize how good he is. After general bodyweight exercises, stuff like mountain climbers, bodyweight lunges, glute bridges, started feeling more natural.”

Pedro Pascal has used this workout, led by Higgins, to fit into his latest role in The Last of Us. The duo made sure to find a workout that would benefit him in the long run.

“We looked at his lower back and general tension with some mobility programming. I’m always coming at the body at more of a fix that and then build it kind of approach.”

Nothing makes you look more ripped than a set of well chiseled six-pack abs. When your abs are visible without flexing, you know you have low body fat levels. Moreover, a strong core carries over to all your lifts and will make you overall stronger as well as improve your athletic performance.

For Hollywood stars, keeping a strong core is important for certain roles. Pedro Pascal is a perfect example of how this has worked in recent years.
