Phil Clahar competed at the 2024 Tampa Pro on Saturday and it was the final appearance of his career. On Sunday, Clahar announced that he is retiring from competitive bodybuilding.

Clahar made this decision prior to competing in Tampa. He wanted to end his IFBB career at the same show where it began. Clahar finished 16th at the event.

“Thank you to every fan, company, competitor, gym, family, client, friends etc that has supported me over my amateur and pro career….

it’s meant more than you’ll ever know. I have traveled to far away places, made friends all over the world and had some of the highest highs and lowest lows but bodybuilding has been an enormous part of my life for so long and I’ll never forget these times”

Clahar, nicknamed “The Jamaican Tank,” enjoyed a career that began at a young age. He began competing after developing a passion for fitness. Clahar won the 2008 Mr. Florida competition before competing at international shows. He did not compete for eight years before taking the stage again in 2017. This is when he would earn his Pro Card.

Phil Clahar made his IFBB Pro League debut during the 2018 Tampa Pro. Clahar began to hit his stride as he finished as the runner-up during the 2021 Tampa Pro before coming in third at the 2021 Texas Pro. Clahar would go onto win the 2023 Orlando Pro and punched his ticket to the Olympia.

Clahar competed at the Chicago Pro this year before training for the final show of his career in Tampa. He has worked with others over the years as a trainer and will continue to help others create the best versions of themselves.
