Bev Francis Powerhouse Gym and Other Fitness Facilities to Reopen on August 24 in NY

The long awaited return of gyms is upon us.

That’s right, though the pandemic hasn’t yet fully abated, New York lawmakers have been satisfied with the numbers enough to allow gyms to reopen.

August 24 marks the official reopening of gyms in all of New York state. This includes one of the most beloved bodybuilding gyms, the East Coast Mecca, Powerhouse Gym.

On the official Instagram page of the Bev Francis and Steve Weinberger owned Powerhouse Gym dropped the official message below.

With the return of gyms, albeit at limited capacity, we will perhaps see the things return to the way things were before the global health crisis. The infection rates have reduced given some hope that the future will be brighter despite concerns of a second wave.

In fact, fears of a second wave is exactly why Mayor Bill de Blasio has barred New York City gyms from reopening. Despite Governor Andrew Cuomo’s ruling to reopen, de Blasio is ensuring that the city remains shut down.

Still, it’s great to see the East Coast Mecca reopen its legendary doors.
