Recovering From Surgery, Jeremy Buendia Dedicates Himself to Building Team Hero

Jeremy Buendia builds his team as he recovers from pec surgery.

In December of 2017, four time Olympia champion in Men’s Physique Jeremy Buendia had surgery for a torn pec tendon. The injury was actually discovered when he went in for an MRI on his quad, and had them run it on his shoulder while he was in. When they discovered the injury, Jeremy knew time was of the essence. He dove into the surgery and has been on the road to recovery ever since.

One of the projects which has been occupying the champ’s time during the recovery is building his team Hero brand. In a recent Youtube video he explained the group:

“Over the past 8 weeks team Hero has grown to be the vision that I had. And that was aligning a lot of like-minded individuals putting them together under one roof to pursue their goals inside and outside of fitness.”

In the video, we see Jeremy running through an intense leg workout of leg press, weighted lunges, and seated hamstring curls.

We also get to listen into a conversation with one of his athletes. After a set, Jeremy tells him:

“You hear everything that I’m saying to you day in and day out. You gotta be that own voice in your head though dude. You can’t ignore it.”

The athlete responds:

“I want that pro card so bad.”

“That’s why I’m here to dial you in. Hany always tells me you gotta cross your T’s and dot your I’s,” said Jeremy Buendia. “Precision is what wins. It’s what separates champion from everybody else. Attention to detail.”

Of course, Jeremy is referring to his trainer Hany Rambod, who also trains Phil Heath among others, and is considered one of the greatest nutrition experts in the world of bodybuilding.

“My athletes know there’s a certain standard – a certain intensity and tenacity you must have to be a part of my team. And there’s a certain expectation that their teammates hold them to at every single practice for every single workout.”

If Jeremy can truly instill his signature drive and motivation into the Hero athletes, they should become a formidable group indeed.
