After Weight Loss Robert Oberst Vows to be in the Best Shape of His Life for World’s Strongest Man

Robert Oberst is a man on a mission.

One of the most recognizable faces on the strongman circuit, Robert Oberst knows a thing or two about superhuman strength. He has spent his career building up his frame in order to heft objects of incredible weight with gusto.

As a strongman or any strength athlete, the more muscle you have on your frame the more you’re usually able to lift. That doesn’t mean strongman competitors look like bodybuilders, after all it’s a different modality and goal in mind. But what it does mean is that strongman tend to carry around a massive amount of both muscle and fat.

Robert Oberst appears to have a goal of shedding the pounds on his frame to better his performance for the upcoming World’s Strongest Man.

The American strongman took to Instagram to share some tidbits about his training as well as an update on his current weight.

“Just under 420 pounds! Doing cardio 4 days a week, but I guess I was just built to be a monster. Worlds Strongest Man is getting closer and closer and I’ll be in the best shape of my life. Time to show the world The American Monster!! ???

“Thank you all so much for the support! I’ve been getting so much love from y’all I can’t help but push to be my best.”
