Ronnie Coleman Details Steroid Use and DEA on the Joe Rogan Podcast

Ronnie Coleman discusses his steroid usage with Joe Rogan.

One of the greatest bodybuilders of all-time, Ronnie Coleman dominated the field in his heyday. Through his intense and extensive training regimen Ronnie Coleman transcended normal bodybuilders. With his massive size and incredible work ethic, Coleman won eight-straight Olympia titles.

Recently appearing on the Joe Rogan podcast, Ronnie Coleman detailed many different aspects of his bodybuilding career. One point of intrigue that he touched on was steroid usage in bodybuilding.

Not only did he address steroid use directly, Coleman also detailed how the DEA goes after steroid users as well. Ronnie Coleman touched on the fact that he had steroids prescribed to him as well as a host of other issues.

To hear the full story take a look at the video below.

Ronnie states that when the DEA came in they would need to see the prescriptions. DEA said they’d see kids take steroids and commit suicide. Because every time they would come off of it, they would get depressed and want to commit suicide.

Ronnie Coleman also reveals that he needed testosterone replacement therapy (or TRT) after long term steroid use. This is a somewhat common situation that bodybuilders and athletes find themselves in. When an individual uses steroids regularly over time, their body is unable to create the proper level of testosterone naturally. To explain in simple terms, TRT is the process to help maintain a normal level of testosterone when the body no longer can on its own.
